@MellyMel22 It's also amazing what you can grow, even inside - I think plants gives off good vibes in a home...

@fun4us2b Yes! They are great 😌
gift them to your French neighbor, as a value-added proposition (« I shelled them for you! Allez voiture esse! »)

dip all the collected leaves and dip them in warmed salt water for some time...Sieve them out and wash.under a tap.... while you warm up the water to wash with.. The infestation should wash away leaving the basil ready to be added to food.
Shoot them. The basil will be slug free and chopped!

@Mamapolo2016 They are eensie weensie tiny baby slugs....I left a leaf on the cutting board for them to chew on.....before I removed them to the leaf bag in my garage....

Soak them in a sink full of water for about 20 minutes and they will drown and fall to the bottom.

@DancingStarGoddess I don't want so much water in my Pesto...I eyeballed each leaf...probably got them all...but if I didn't I'm not sure if I'll ever know 🐌
@fun4us2b 😯what if you wipe them down with a damp paper towel after you pluck them off?
fun4us2b · M
@DancingStarGoddess That's what I did on the plants where I found slugs, I squished them dry with a towel....I have a salad spinner too, but there wasn't that much...

Rinse the leaves in a water-lemon juice mix
fun4us2b · M
@GerOttman Great idea - I did add lemon into the pesto itself...

Bugs of all kinds are naturally present on all food that isn’t industrially produced. Wash and make your food

I have no idea if they are edible, unpleasant or actually toxic!
fun4us2b · M
@ArishMell Oh-Oh...if something happens to me folks...this might be the cause...holy moly - this from AI: Eating a garden slug can cause severe, life-threatening brain infections if the slug carries a parasite called rat lungworm
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@fun4us2b Awful! Just as well I've never thought them edible.
