You'll have to come to where I grew up for the real stuff ;)

@JimboSaturn I first had it at a roadside stand in southern Ontario.

@DrWatson A chipwagon?
bijouxbroussard · F
@JimboSaturn Do you have a "Smokes Poutinerie" nearby ?
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard no i dont actually. I grew up in Ottawa right on the Quebec border where poutine was invented. The mom and pop restaurant had them as well as the "chip wagons" or food trucks had them

@JimboSaturn I understand Smokes is based in Ontario, and a friend says there’s one in Toronto, too.

@bijouxbroussard there is one in Mississauga where i work i believe!
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@JimboSaturn That is the region where I had it. There was just a stand by the side of the road, with a handwritten sign saying "Poutine", and it was served in paper cups.
