Power Plant Operator/Mechanic.
Specifically, waste water management/operations.
Most days, it's a real shit show.
But i can't complain about the pay, especially the x2 OT.
I plan to retire nlt January of 2026.
If i live that long. 👍😄😎❤️...🥺🙏

@Montanaman That's a great career, and very much underappreciated. I've worked on industrial wastewater design and management since the late 1970s all over the US.

@windinhishair Have you ever heard of Dry Waste Press Plant?

@Montanaman Are you talking about a belt filter press or plate-and-frame filter press for dewatering biosolids? I've used both over the years.

@windinhishair Plate and frame with filter cloths. 👍👍🤗

@Montanaman You can get a good dry cake with a good filter press and a knowledgeable operator. I work with a lot of industrial wastes which are harder to dewater.

@windinhishair Our plant has been in service for a year and we produce axlot of good cake. Maintenance is the challenging part of the job.🤪
Operating is relatively smooth so far. 👍

@Montanaman Excellent. Shakedown and early and ongoing maintenance is key to good performance. Keep lots of spare parts! One of the facilities I work with was constructed in 1980 and had a nominal 20-year life span. We are at twice that now and can't get parts. Lots of things work only partially and/or poorly, and they are reluctant to put in a new facility, so we continue to limp along.
