Cannoli is the best dessert ever made

Fight me👊🏼

Ok homemade Brownies are *nearly * a tie but the cannoli fact remains. Carry on. 🙃😌

The real cannoli from Naples in Italy (yes I have tried them) are way too sweet. You can barely eat one of those gigantic ones.

@Elessar Could it be that my high consumption of Baba au rhum has led me to be so up close and personal with those pedestrians when on my bike? 🤔
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Stephie Oh you visited Palermo? Do you have family there? That's awesome. My great grandmother was from that area and while I went to Italy on a school trip, we never got to do Sicily. 😭
Stephie · 22-25, F
@Coralmist no, I have no family there. I was on a cruise that stopped there, in Napoli, Civitavecchia (Rome) and a few other places. The atmosphere of Napoli and Palermo are great.

If you go again to Palermo, you MUST try Arancini. It is to die for

Lol, brownies for me. You can have the cannoli. 😁
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
I’ve never had it
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Jenny1234 Ricotta cheese, or mascarpone occasionally, blended with sugar and vanilla!!
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@Jenny1234 Tastes very similar to cheesecake filling
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@Coralmist I’ll keep it in mind!
itsok · 31-35, F

I pick my battles 🙂‍↔

What is cannoli
@Banksy83 Sweet dessert cream in a pastry tube is the best way I can describe it.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
They're nice, but infinitely inferior to baklava.

@Elessar no. Also:

@basilfawlty89 Because they're antiquated, just like the French who are so stuck up about language preservation, going as far as calling the computer "l'ordinateur". We've always had a mobile language, and if you read a 1300 Italian text as a modern Italian speaker you understand less than if you read a 1300 English text.

Our language is constantly evolving and staying ahead of time 🫡 e.g.:

@Elessar respectfully, that's nonsense.

Ancient Greek is quite different from Modern Greek and literary system is split into Katharevousa and Standard Greek. The former is antiquated and rarely used.

Modern Greek also has dialects like Macedonian Greek, Cretan Greek, Cypriot Greek and Pontic Greek.

I give you an F+ for effort.

Makaronides...

@NativePortlander1970 My favorite is Cinnabon. If there was a definition for decadence, it should say, Cinnabon. 😋
@Coralmist I haven't had a cinnabon since Las Vegas.
