I had to order water from Uber Eats

Roommate and I don't drink the tap water here (it's not very advisable to do so) so we have two large office style water jugs that we keep filled with alkaline water to drink from. Well they were both empty all day and he didn't seem very interested in taking them to be refilled, so I was dying of thirst all day.

Finally I couldn't take it anymore and ordered some bottled alkaline water from Uber Eats. 😒 The person who delivered it was probably like "This is the weirdest order ever". Lol

I only drink bottled water. It tastes much better and has far fewer toxins.

@DangerGirl What "toxins"? Where is your bottled water from?

Water itself has no flavour.

If it has any taste that should only be from dissolved rock minerals naturally there, though you might peronally be able to detect the very tiny trace (typically 2ppm) of chlorine used to disinfect it after filtering and possibly also UV sterilising. Those processes, normal in making water safe to drink, obviously do not alter the water itself.

Its actually better than bottled water

Denver is supposed to have some of the best tap water in the country. We use a Brita filter too. I can't imagine not being able to drink it.

Definitely not their weirdest order. My kids mom delivered an order for rope, gloves, condoms, & lube once. She had to tell the cashier "I'm an Uber driver btw this isn't for me... Idk wtf this is about either"

@ChiefJustWalks The buyer didn't have the nerve to go to the shop personally, then! :)

@ArishMell yeah I bet
i can't imagine not being able to drink our tap water up here in the pacific northwest...tbh, i don't know why some people buy bottled water here

@Frostcloud I didn't know you were from AZ but yeah I grew up on the hose water too. Still live here but I drink spring water more than anything now. It tastes the best & from my research it's the best to buy anyway if you're paying for water

@beermeplease I don’t get why stores sell bottled water here. I would not touch Phoenix tap water. Sedona maybe or flagstaff
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@beermeplease Why buy bottled water? In most places it is marketing.

What is "alkaline water"?

Normal minerals dissolved naturally in water make it neutral or very slightly alkaline, but there is nothing special about it.

More concerning is that you say you cannot drink your tap-water. That made me wonder where you live. The USA, your profile says.

Eh? A nation as developed as the USA has regions whose mains water supplies might not be safe?
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Northwest The question there of course, are the contaminents harmful (e.g. heavy-metals salts)?
Northwest · M
@ArishMell I guess you haven’t heard of Flint, Michigan
