Uber Auto Cancelled My Trip & Gave It To Someone Else

Because I apparently took "too long" to get there; I'm so sorry I have to wear the wrist, elbow, and knee pads along with my helmet for safety. Now my cancellation rate went up from 5 to 6%, and if it eventually reaches 20%, my account will get deactivated. I do have DoorDash as a fallback option and I'll definitely apply for other jobs so if I get kicked off Uber, I'll be fine.

Man this is so sad. They should be ashamed of themselves. What a cold world we live in.
@Eddiesolds did you used to work for Uber?

@uikakarotuevegeta No i haven't..i did think about doing it for.a.side thing . I needed to get out of my routine. I was sick of it. I thought that maybe it would help.also.. They want me to get my truck inspected. I dont have time for that.I dont want to.pay the bill for that neither..
I just dropped the idea
@Eddiesolds yeah you need a more recent vehicle, valid insurance (whatever that means), and also pay for driver history and background check; for me, i only need to "pay" for background check as i deliver by bike (as in Uber takes some earnings to cover for it twice a year)
I wish that I filed a wage claim against those @#$@#$
@uikakarotuevegeta only do that work if you are desperate. they will cheat you constantly even as a contractor.
@StygianKohlrabi yeah my cancellation rate these past few days kept spiking up, and yeah I'm desperate
Ironically it'll be easy for me to get a job now that I have one

Isn’t it the higher the percentage the less the number ?
@Monalisasmith86 what are you talking about? Cancellation rate is how many times I cancelled out of the total deliveries I successfully completed. Higher % is worse to the algorithms and to customers. each area has its own rate which results in account deactivation. Sadly I'm not in such an area, as I have the unfair 20% rate when that happens; some places don't even have such a cap, so you can cancel as much and get away with it.
It does "reset" after every 100 deliveries (same with acceptance rate), but it acts as a rotating wheel rather than a complete new slate.
