One thing I don't like about winter time - cooking meals after dark I have to leave house fully open to vent out the corrupted air

Cooking dinner when it's already gone dark and getting cold, and I have to open up the house as the stupid range over the cooktop doesn't vent to outside so the house fills up with cooking smells and risks setting off smoke detectors.

I am used to it as I just put a coat on and cook away, leave house open for another hour after I stop cooking so some airflow comes through to vent some of the cooking gases and get colder but the house still smells somewhat like last night's dinner in the morning and I have to open the house up once I get up to vent it more. Hopefully it's sunny not windy and raining the next morning.

The existing range is an el-cheapo one left over from when the house was rented by me and was here when the previous owner lived in it before I rented it, so about 20+ yrs. I've investigated getting a much better exterior vented range though cost is probibitive.
