Anyone else make porridge this way?

Basically heated up in pre melted butter (ghee). Ghee has almost zero salt. Heat it up in normal butter taste will not be the same.

During porridge is heating up add sugar / honey. Then milk or water once the oats are goldenish.

No, certainly not.

When I make porridge, I soak the oats to the top of a double boiler over night and light the gas under it in the morning while I am in the shower.
It cooks very slowly and tastes delicious when I serve it with thick cream and honey.
