I Made Leek & Potato Soup, Kale Salad and Salmon Patties For Dinner….

The soup recipe is Julia Child’s, The Salmon patty recipe is from Good Housekeeping magazine about 1976 and the Kale Salad is from Sam’s Club.

Leeks are $4 for a bunch of 3 or I’d make that soup more often. Thinking about it though, I’ll never visit a French restaurant and if I did a bowl of that soup would be way more than $4 and I had two bowls this evening.

I bought leeks once. They are famous for having almost as much sand inside as clams, and they are supposed to be soaked before using. There was only a TINY bit of grit in my soup.

@4meAndyou Yeah you have to separate the layers and wash every piece and inspect them afterwards. I was born on a farm, pretty sure I had a little grit or two back then.

@4meAndyou Thank you. I can always count on you to appreciate the immaturity and finesse of a well-laid dark humorous bit, all made in good wholesome fun. 🫡🤭 appreciate ya!
