As I've Grown Older

I've learned to value those cooking skills and techniques that I have learned from people.

My Step Dad and Grandmother are of Italian descent and I was taught the proper way of making my own pasta as well as pizza bases. All very quick.

Same with friend's parents who taught me how to make Gujarati Curries and sundries.

Is it all a dying art? Maybe. People are being taught from books and from online, which is fine, but those styles and tastes are getting more homogenised, and not as authentic as they used to.

It takes some time to realise that. To value those styles, recopies and techniques that you have learned from your past, and teach your children.

Teach them. Get they to try. Get them to enjoy.
