Marilyn Harris who played Little Maria in '31 Frankenstein, when asked by director James Whale (knowing that she would be required to be thrown into the lake in the scene with Boris Karloff's monster) what she would like, she happily exclaimed, "A dozen hard boiled eggs!" Whale complied with her wish....her mother, on the other hand, being the typical overbearing 'stage mom' admonished her by screaming, "You could have had a bicycle!"
