lasagna...i thought was very complicated. it's SIMPLE actually and DELICIOUS!!

mom made shopping and cooking so much more complicated than she had to. cost was a higher priority than taste. she would go to great lengths to save a nickle.

It’s not hard but the price of all the ingredients is expensive for a meal. Fortunately leftovers if you don’t have a large family

@NativePortlander1970 I got it from Stouffers and also a frozen Aldi’s pizza. It tastes like they are adding sugar to the tomato sauce in both and that’s nasty, doesn’t help with heartburn when added to acidic foods.

@cherokeepatti Add a pinch of salt, a spoonful of olive/canola oil, a shake of oregano, and a shake of parmesan cheese. That should fix the sweetness.

@Massageman not willing to try them again. I don’t eat gluten foods now anyway and make my own gluten-free versions of pizza and pasta now. I don’t want sugar added to any tomato sauces I use.

Have you tried Moussaka? It is a little complicated to make, but if you can buy it to try, it's really nice.
@Jemimapuddleduck Moussaka is Awesome as well 😊🤤😋❤️

UPDATE: One of the first things I saw when I walked into Aldi this morning was a half-price aubergine in perfect condition. Just round the corner was minced lamb on a special offer. It was fated!!!

I cheated on the topping: Greek yoghurt mixed with instant cheese granules and grated provolone.

@ArtieKat Yaaay! The universe has spoken..!! 🥳

Since they perfected lasagne which doesn't require advance cooking I have found it very easy

It's just 3 sets of repeated layers of meat, pasta and cheeses. Easy- just pricey at times.
