What makes a good cutting board in your opinion?

Is it good to have multiple cutting boards to cut different types of food on different ones?

Wood. Doesn't blunt your knife so easily and a good quality board is hygienic and easy to clean.

You should always have a separate board for raw meat to prevent the possibility of cross-contamination.

Yes wood for some reason naturally fights contaminants better than plastic that’s what I’ve always been told by people that works with cutting meats.@SunshineGirl

@Repete I've had my wooden boards for years. Wood is supposed to have some antimicrobial properties. However, the most important thing is to look after and maintain the boards well. I rub them down every month with olive oil to smooth over any big knife cuts.

I agree I have one wooden one but I seldom use it now sadly, because my foldable plastic one is just much more handy and very easy to wash between uses .@SunshineGirl

@ArtieKat I am the type of person who would naturally be attracted by something like that. But I know it would just make me unhappy in the long term!

I do have a 30cm ruler in my utensil drawer for some sad reason.
