Never tried it. I typically don't like white sauces.
I just cooked pasta in squid ink, and served it with a prawns/mushrooms sauce for lunch.

Ink? @Northwest

@SW-User Yes, the black liquid squid squirt.

Whoa the things you learn everyday! I assume it tastes bitter @Northwest

@SW-User It's a mediterranean thing. Had it in Italy first. I buy an Italian brand from speciality stores, but it only comes pre-made for one type of thin noodles. If I want to use any other type of pasta, I have to do it myself.

How does it taste? @Northwest

@SW-User It tastes like pasta cooked in squid ink🤣? I love it.

@SW-User It's a little fishy, obviously. It's not oily at all. It's not salty either, but the commercial stuff comes with added salt. It's not bitter. Do you like sashimi?

No @Northwest

@SW-User Then it would be kind of difficult to explain the taste.
I am a huge fan of Sushi and Sashimi. That said, if you eat raw fish, that tastes, or smells "fishy", then it's definitely NOT fresh. My statement may seem odd, because we're talking about fish, after all. But, fresh fish, should not taste fishy. Same with Squid ink, while it tastes like fish, it's NOT fishy.

Then it must be unique which kinda piques my interest. I saw pics and it doesn't sound or look appealing but I think I may give it a shy try like a small bite for the sake of adventure lol @Northwest
