I never add salt to cooking.

In your case add sugar turn it into sweet and sour.
@KiwiBird This is the rule most of us veteran cooks have learned after too many "whoops" accidents learned the hard way. Let whoever is going to partake of your efforts "SALT TO TASTE" once your part is done.
