It looks like regular coffee grounds, but it dissolves in hot water for a cup of black coffee

I always keep a few packets of freeze dried instant around for power outages... it's one of those "it will do" substitutes, but not a favorite. On the other hand, in a pinch, instant or any other form of coffee is good when that's all you have.

@akindheart I loved it when it was locally owned. But a corporation took over the stations and eliminated personal creativity, so I went back to welding (self employed). I didn't make much money in radio anyway. But it was enjoyable and fun.

@akindheart Actually it was welding to radio back to welding. 😂 But that was part of my appeal. A blue collar guy in a white collar job in a blue collar area. I was anti establishment/anti authority. (surprise surprise 🤣) and I KNEW how things actually were in real life.

Not my preference. But when I’m too lazy to brew coffee in a pot, instant coffee fills that craving for a coffee smelling water. 😁

@Colonelmustardseed DAMNIT I MISS TRADER JOES! Legit miss TJs more than I miss visiting my parents. (I moved). That was my go to store. Have you tried the kaluia pork rolls? Do recommend 🥲

Yeah I used to keep their instant on hand, it was good. And they had single drink packets with the coffee, creamer and sugar which also were really good

Yes, I actually enjoy a cup with dessert after dinner. It's just easier than running the coffee pot for one cup.

I drank it for years when I lived in England, and I thought it was good. Now, after drinking drip coffee and Coffee pods, it tastes vile to me.

I can only enjoy certain brands of coffee pods. The rest taste awful to me. Same with drip or percolated, or French press. @Iusedtobehereallthetime

@WanderingThrough some are better than others. Starbucks does good instant imo. And I'm not a Starbucks groupie... It just actually tastes the best to me

I confess. I am not a coffee connoisseur and drink the cheap store brand each morning. I'm not sure I could tell the difference if somebody gave me instant.

Starbucks make a pretty good instant coffee. It is great for backpacking or just hiking.

Stuff like Folgers is really more like coffee "drink" not actual coffee...and the flavored stuff is like modified hot chocolate - unless you know a good brand? I have it maybe once a week - it's lousy but better than nothing
