Do you like to bake?
Yesterday I made Anzac biscuits. Today I’m thinking I might make some scones. I like them with apricot jam or golden syrup.

I’ve gotten back into baking after getting a new oven last fall. The only thing I haven’t yet made are beignets because I used to make them for my mother—it’ll be hard without her here to sample them. My grandmother originally taught me, and Mom used to say mine were exactly like hers, high praise indeed. 🥹
@bijouxbroussard I’m sorry for your loss. Recipes are so often tied to memories. I used my grandmas recipe book often. I had to look up beignets, they sound delicious! I hope it’s not too long before you feel able to make them once again.
