Name something small that irked you

So tonight I needed something cheap for dinner. I figured I'd do a egg bagel sandwich at a cafe nearby. They close at 7 pm. It was 6 pm. I've gone before at 6:30 and they said "We are not serving food anymore, just muffins , for cleanup. " Ok, I get it, it's a half hour before close, and I'll just find something else. But this was an HOUR before close now. And they said again to me, "we are not serving sandwiches just muffins , treats, etc" . I really wanted to speak up and say "You are closing the food area down an HOUR ahead of time? For cleanup...Shouldn't customers be able to get a sandwich still since you do sell them, and they are there in stock? " It just made me so frustrated because this was an hour before close time. Oh well, I went some where else, again. And I know, its truly not a big deal. I just wanted to vent Lol. 😫I let everything go in life, and I mean everything, all the time. I just was really Irritated!!!!! lol.

My take on this is that the staff, not the owners decided to stop making food so they can walk out the door right on closing time.
I would let the owners know, or ask, "Have you instructed the staff to stop preparing food an hour before closing time"?
At least get an answer and if the owner says it was on her instructions then tell her/him that you will go elsewhere from now on.
Make a stand, no one is going to bite your head off for asking a question.

@Gusman I get so nervous asking anything that might 'rock the boat' ... it's ridiculous how nervous I get. But it's just a simple question, so true. I might ask , thank you.

@Baybreeze All I can say is I used to be exactly the same. Too nervous/frightened even, to speak up. One day I bit the bullet and did exactly that.
Things got much easier and less fraught after my first time.

A few years ago I went to Dunkin' Donuts in the evening, yet they had very few donuts for sale. They could have made me sammich, though!

I said, "You are a donut shop, right?"

Or are they just "Dunkin' " now with no donuts? At least not late-night.

What hurts the most now is whenever go there for breakfast I see all the wonderful donuts, which I need to avoid now due to all the sugar. Sigh.

@JoyfulSilence I think the donuts are more scare in evening, I agree. But yes I drool over some of the donuts sometimes lol. I've been pretty good, not getting one when I do want one. I'm on pre diabetes brink, so I need to watch as well. And they are going to check my A1C again soon ughhhh.
I LOVE their apple cinnamon filled donut, but only one Dunkin carries it near me. The others nearby do not , weird lol.

@MayorOfCrushtown I know they have many customers and continue to , but it's not my favorite practice that they have!! Maybe I'll write in some time to management. I don't have guts though lol

@NativePortlander1970 I think most food should be served until nearly the end. I can maybe see the half hour before, but an hour ? It didn't make sense, b/c people do still want sandwiches at early evening too if they are available.
