I have frozen bacon that has been in the freezer since 2024, it's never been touched. Is it okay for me to thaw out and eat? It's also good-quality bacon, from the Applegate brand.
I buy bacon and cut and wrap it into individual size servings and freeze it. If I am going to have bacon I take it out of the freezer the night before and thaw in the refrigerator section. I have had zero issues. I usually use it up before a year goes by. I have not seen any sign of spoiling or loss of flavor.
If its still sealed and not discolored , sure. Give it the smell test after its thawed (put the package in a sink full of tepid water). If it smells good, cook it.
The already-cooked bacon from Sam's is really good. 35 seconds in the microwave and no grease and no fuss. Its thin sliced but it tastes great
@Likestoenjoylife I mean I have heard stories of feeding deep frozen meats to soldiers for years, meaning decades old. I don't think a bacon from last year is that bad, but as I said I would use my senses, if I had a cat or dog, their senses are even sharper
