I really do like sushi, but I eat less of it than I used to.
Sushi, being fish, is becoming more and more expensive as we rape the seas of various fish types and species. People, myself included are more aware of this, so I've chosen to eat less of it.
I've had sushi in London. I haven't come across anyone thinking it was posh, though my Dad did say the restaurant bill was twice what it would be back home.
Maybe the price was posh?
Or the restaurant thinks of itself as posh?
Neither the dishes we were served, nor the people around us had any reason to indicate any posh-ness' to us..

no Majestic bows i guess , lol
CassandraFemale17 · 26-30, F
@FurryFace: lol. No. Nobody bowed. There weren't even any kimonos!!!!! Just a couple busy servers in rather unwashed jeans and colourful tops.
No bows.
Then again, we didn't even get invited into the back rooms for communal baths where the staff do the scrubbing!!!!
What are sushi restaurants becoming these days?!?!?

Probably because it is a b!tch to make.
We are not skilled at making it and revere others who are.

@plainspoken: oh i know that but it also depends on the type you get
@CassandraFemale17:
I spent an entire Saturday - in vain and aggravation - attempting to make sushi! I failed miserably. Sticky rice was everywhere.

@plainspoken: lol. You are braver than I. I know the sushi would win. I surrender without a fight, and make my way to the local sushi place.

Probably because we consider it to be "exotic", coupled with the fact that eating raw fish is something that is otherwise not done in our own cuisines. So, novelty.
kaiyaneko · 26-30, F
sushi isnt raw fish, sushimi is raw fish
KingofPizza2 · 36-40, M
Right, but the reason that we consider it novel here is because of the raw fish component present in many sushi preparations. If it was just the rice, we wouldn't think twice about it.

They do? Sushi is just ... ordinary, I thought.
kaiyaneko · 26-30, F
it seems like it in england
firefall · 61-69, M
@kaiyaneko: Oh well, it tastes good. So that qualifies it as exotic in England :)
theMeggyD · 22-25, F

Probably because of the prices, it stinks from what I've noticed about it.
