Probably because it is a b!tch to make.

We are not skilled at making it and revere others who are.

It is a learned craft for sure. It's a profession - that takes many years to become a sushi chef in Japan

@CassandraFemale17: yeah i know that but eating normal sushi is pretty common place there.
CassandraFemale17 · 26-30, F
@kaiyaneko: True. It's normal in Japan too. And it's normal in England.

But it's gradually becoming more expensive everywhere.
@kaiyaneko: Eating something and preparing it is (obviously) two different things. I spent an entire Saturday trying to make sushi. It is A LOT harder than it looks. Who knew?

@plainspoken: a whole SATURDAY??????

woooooooooow

You should recommend that course to Sushi chefs who spend years just forming the rice, years just learning how to slice the fish, practically shaving it with knives. Nevermind they spend months before being trusted with each knife used.

Who knew you could learn it in a whole Saturday.
Someone should export those courses to Japan!!!!!

Lol

:)

@plainspoken: oh i know that but it also depends on the type you get
@CassandraFemale17:

I spent an entire Saturday - in vain and aggravation - attempting to make sushi! I failed miserably. Sticky rice was everywhere.

@plainspoken: lol. You are braver than I. I know the sushi would win. I surrender without a fight, and make my way to the local sushi place.
