I heard a similar message experience
Misfits Market you dont have to have a subscription to. Ive used them. I love Misfits Market. I dont order that often though and they constantly send me come back discounts liek 50% off $20 worth of food. Minimum order is $30 and including shipping the prices are reasonable. Saves you from driving all over looking for organic foods. Plus the quality is good. Best strawberries I ever had came from Misfits Market.

@Penny oh I guess I was mistaken about misfit markets they make you put your credit card in before you can see their groceries, so I assumed wrongly there was some kind of fee.
Penny · 46-50, F
@Justmeraeagain theres an optional subscription fee that helps you save on shipping but its not necessary.
eta- some items are a good deal, some are sometimes high so you have to pay attention to the prices when youre ordering.

I had a similar experience. It’s too bad, because it would be so helpful, especially for those of us with dietary restrictions, to have an affordable food delivery service available.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@bijouxbroussard I thought about joining a place like thrive market or misfit foods, but you got to pay a subscription price plus delivery fees and I don't want to do that.
I am thinking about having some of my groceries delivered, though, that in itself will be a time saver.
We don't have a lot of programs here to save food waste ,but we have one called flash foods ,but only one store here participates.
I have bought some groceries that way, but it's very little and there isn't very much variety.

@Justmeraeagain I’ve been a Prime member for awhile, and I use a lot of their services. They deliver groceries, and I like that they will deliver fresh fruit and veggies (as available) and other items for no more than a $2.99 delivery charge. This is fairly new; their Fresh program required you to spend at least $100 to get free delivery. But now, you can buy what you need at that time (I’ll buy just a week’s staples, or ingredients for a dish) for considerably less, and it works for me.

@bijouxbroussard
I use prime to get the groceries I can't get in the regular stores.
There's certain products I like but I can't get them in the regular grocery stores.

Yea and i hate all the packaging its too much trash from it. Also they come with a bunch of ingredients i dont use i dont like spicy foods so no chili peppers for me. Dont order them better spend your money on a cosco membership or bjs or whatever you have in your area. When i used to live in Connecticut i likes stop and shop.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@Girlyfriendcollecting I have a Sam's club membership but I don't usually buy a lot of food from them because there's only me here.
But I do save a lot on my prescriptions

Dude same! They look neat and all but I just can't justify it.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@boklenholley7 yeah, and there's a lot of recipe sites online so you could find some cool looking recipes and just by the stuff from the grocery store
boklenholley7 · F
@Justmeraeagain my mom used a meal serbice for awhile and sent me pics of a bunch of the recipes. They look good tbf

@HootyTheNightOwl yeah it must be rich people that don't want to cook using it cuz I can't justify the cost.
We have meals for wheels for the elderly who are disabled it's only Monday through Friday and it's only one meal ,though.

@HootyTheNightOwl here we do have free meals for the elderly and we have a soup kitchen at anyone can go to that's in need, but there's only a lunch meal each time and nothing on the weekends.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
Wow unless I won the lottery could I order those😯
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@Coralmist
It might be cheaper if you go out to eat for every single meal, otherwise, I can't see where it'd be less expensive?
They say less food waste, but I use my food up.
I'll freeze it if I don't eat it all or processes it so it doesn't go bad.

@Justmeraeagain Right, I don't think it'd be less than buying groceries and making say five nights of meals. I rarely waste anything as well. If I do win the lottery I'll try them though lol.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
Im not interested in spending the money on it.
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@Jenny1234 I thought I might try it because I'm the only one here and maybe there'd be less food waste but I'm pretty good about either preserving or eating up the leftovers.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@Justmeraeagain so expensive eh!
