It depends on what the bacon is cooked for. 9 is crispy and good crushed into bits for sprinkling onto a cooked dish to garnish before serving. For breakfast with eggs (sunny-side up or easy over), I would prefer 3 to 5. With hamburger, I would cook the bacon till it is 6 to 8. 1 and 2 would be good cut up and thrown into a wok for stir frying with any dish to give it an American kick.

6,7,8 work for me! With two over medium, hash browns (crispy), and toast. ☺So good!

I'm sure all Americans would be improved by curing and smoking but I'm not aware of ever having eaten one! 🤣
