During all my drinking years I never once had a Stout

That black liquid, if I am honest, I do not even know what the main ingredient that makes it black is.
Looking up Stout ingredients just now I find that Roasted, Unmalted Barley gives it it's blackness.

Hold it up to the light, it's deep red, not black.

@BlobbyMcBlobface As I have never held a glass, I can only see it from a distance. That distance makes it look black. 🙂

@Gusman I love Guinness, always thought it was black until I shone a torch through it
@BlobbyMcBlobface In what circumstances did you feel you had to shine a torch through your stout?

@Mamapolo2016 looks like a scouting situation. A scout for a stout :D

@Mamapolo2016 During a visit to the factory in Dublin, we were told it's a deep red colour so curiosity got the better of me
@BlobbyMcBlobface Ah. Trust but verify!

@Mamapolo2016 I wonder how many will read this and do the same 😁
@BlobbyMcBlobface Every-damn-body who happens to have access to a flashlight and stout.
