Sorry for being so negative, but what the hell is the point of basil?

It smells like nothing it taste like nothing. It enhances nothing. There’s no point to it.

Fresh basil? Crush it with salt, pepper, balsamic vinegar and use to to dress fresh tomatoes. The fragrance is very pronounced. The flavour quite spicy.
