For one person?? That’s a lot imo but I’ve never been to Europe so I don’t know how expensive things can get. I don’t think I would pay that much for one meal, but then again one meal would probably last me two meals

@assemblingaknob That doesn't surprise me for Dublin

@CrazyMusicLover Btw Margherita for €9 is theft 🙈 it's literally some bread, some tomato sauce and some cheese.. I complain when it's €7 😅
Pasta I've no idea because I rarely ever eat it when I'm out unless it's something fancy, but 12-15 considering it's only one serving seems a lot and definitely going to push you >20 for the whole meal (intended as multiple servings)

@Elessar Yeah 😅 And we're nearing there as well. 😭 7,57 €, 600 g. 🤦🏻♀️ Now imagine what quality could be like here. No prices under 7 € here.

I would only pay this in a really good restaurant somewhere on a vacation where I would tell myself that once a year I can treat myself to some luxury. At home going out by myself? Hell no. I usually don't pay more than 8 €. 11-12 € if it's something better.
I googled shawarma (I never heard about it before 😅). It would be 9,50 € for 300g in my city. I have no idea about quality though.

@CrazyMusicLover what city are you in?
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@assemblingaknob A small city in Central Europe.

Can't you save by picking it up?
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
@samueltyler2 it's too far for me to go to. Their delivery fee isn't much...they made me add a MANDATORY drink for an additional 4 euros, that they didn't reveal in the "meal" price on the menu, and then service charges...which...idk...i'm not dining in so idk why a delivery would mandate a service charge....

@assemblingaknob that is horrible!
Buy a rice cooker
assemblingaknob · 26-30, F
@Motzu does it only cook rice, or other stuff too? what are the benefits over a cooking pan or pot?
@assemblingaknob
That's a google image search of "rice cooker recipes". A few thousand exist. Doesn't have to be just rice. You can probably adapt most to a pan, but a rice cooker you just add the ingredients and then ignore till it is time.
It's what most immigrants do when they can't afford to eat out or buy expensive groceries.

@Motzu aaahhh okay!!! makes sense. So basically like a slow cooker. I love it!! I'll buy one when I get my salary!

That sounds reasonable - but here in London you lose £150, just for stepping out the front door

I mean define A LOT of money. it's pretty good for a 5 star Michelin rating.
That's why I go and pick it up myself, save 70% that way.
