For one person?? That’s a lot imo but I’ve never been to Europe so I don’t know how expensive things can get. I don’t think I would pay that much for one meal, but then again one meal would probably last me two meals

@Jenny1234 You can get pasta in Venice, which is a well-known tourist trap, for 12-15 €. A friend got pizza Margherita for 9 € and it was really good.
But maybe OP talks about Western Europe, idk.

@CrazyMusicLover 😭 idk it has seemed crazy expensive to me. French fries are 5 euros everywhere....and that's a side....
fish and chips are 15 euros on an average...
man i think i'll have to learn to cook. what a bummer.

@turningthekeys €20 is pretty much average down here in Venice too btw 🙈 I mean pizza tends to cost less because (at least until recently) it's basically fast food, pasta varies a lot (generic tomato/ragù sauce aren't on the same league as, say, pasta allo scoglio ordered in some fish restaurant).
The trick is to avoid weekends and go to those places that have fixed-price menu for workers, where you'll typically spend €11-15. Not that you save a lot, but portions at least are generally generous.

@Elessar damn. Now that I'm not living with my parents anymore, I'm even thinking twice before using more than 2 squares of toilet paper. I ain't spending 20 euros. I'll just have my egg and bread for the fifth time this week. yayyyyyyy.

@turningthekeys You don't need to be a chef, there's plenty of easy stuff to make as well, without having to eat the same stuff over and over.
Eggs iirc have a lot of cholesterol 🙈

@turningthekeys That doesn't surprise me for Dublin

@CrazyMusicLover Btw Margherita for €9 is theft 🙈 it's literally some bread, some tomato sauce and some cheese.. I complain when it's €7 😅
Pasta I've no idea because I rarely ever eat it when I'm out unless it's something fancy, but 12-15 considering it's only one serving seems a lot and definitely going to push you >20 for the whole meal (intended as multiple servings)

@Elessar Yeah 😅 And we're nearing there as well. 😭 7,57 €, 600 g. 🤦🏻♀️ Now imagine what quality could be like here. No prices under 7 € here.
