Before covid teams at my work would go out for lunch somewhere , usually this buffet near the office. It was fun then. It's like a morgue now, I miss the days when we had fun!
that is funny I did the same thing pre covid. i work remote now but I am in tech sales even without covid I would have eventually been a remote employee. I haven't been in the same room with a co-worker more than a few times in over a decade at this point with the exception of one stretch for 2 years.
@Musicman if i remember you own your own business? I bet you make way more money than I do. I can't complain but do not stack up to either skilled workers who work with hands on specialized things (like a mechanic) or small business owerns
Probably just lost the inertia of the habit. Bring up a suggestion! My daughter’s team all went home and stayed home so they just arrange to all drive in for lunch sometimes and she always enjoys that. If weekday lunches are hard, you could put feelers out about getting together for group volunteer projects. It just takes someone to kickstart the habit again. Good luck!
@JustNik I have tried numerous times over the past five months, but no one is interested. Everyone says it's a good idea, but everyone has an excuse why they can't. 🤷♂️
I always kept away from buffets. Too aware of peoples bad habits, i reckon. So i get skipping that. Are you saying that the lunches went away all together? That would be sad.
