Do you purchase items by thrifting or handmade items?

I am curious to know as I’d like to pursue my career while living at home doing everything remotely. I have knowledge of animating, graphic design but the art sector really took a hit since Covid so I decided to move back home and unfortunately it’s been nothing but drama and lack of empathy from both of my parents.

I love homemade items, such as crafts, knives, fishing lures, and dolls. I appreciate the skill, man-hours, and dedication required to make them.

Most of the stuff we need, we make.

If we need a machine to do something. We're not rich and going out spending $$$,$$$ for something that will maybe last 10 years.

I know how to weld and I how to design and create my own machines for our needs on the farm.

Just like farmers in the 1800s did.

We make our butter, cream, toys for the grandkids, and so much more

Yes. Garage sales ate awesome. My rule is to never pay more than what the sales tax would be.

Handmade items? If it is directly from the artist than absolutely.

Lots of hand made stuff
I was a huge thrifter back in the 80's and 90's, they were great places back in the day to buy cheap work clothes.
