Hi. Do you like meat ? What is your favorite meat of them all. I think that chicken is the best tasting meat on Earth. When it's seasoned and sprinkled in herbs and spices it's the best. Other than chicken, 🍗 I would say that pork is second. Mainly pork chops. Fried, boiled, baked, grilled. You cannot go wrong with a nice tasting chop. 🥩 What is the best tasting or your favorite meat of them all. Tell us why. Comments. Best answer will win. 😋
My mother thought a steak was done only when the fat cap had turned to charcoal. So i didn't have a proper steak until my brother-in-law ordered his mid rare. I had a bite and never looked back...much to mom's horror and disgust.
@Carla Mine used to fry steak in one of those ancient cast iron frying pans that had decades of "seasoning" so she would heat that sucker up to searing hot to burn off any germs, plop in a 1/4 pound of butter and pour the melted butter on the steak when she served it to make it "more tender" so I know what you mean, shoe leather with butter sauce would be a good approximation! 🤪
No simple generic answer, imho. So much depends upon the particular animal and how it was fed or its diet, the cut (both body part and butcher skill), and how it was cooked. Among commercially available in the U.S. I tend to prefer lamb (particularly lollipop chops cut from a rack) and prime rib beef (both rare). But I really like venison and one of the things I enjoyed about New Zealand was the fact it was commercially available.
That all said, I would have to say the best I ever had was visiting family who have their own cattle ranch. They took us to a restaurant that keeps sides of beef from the best of the herd when they butcher, hanging and aging in the restaurant's walk-in refrigerator, for family use only. Best steak ever.
@Zonuss I don't remember--not unless I bought some as an experiment when I was a newlywed. Nowadays I would not take time to make chicken broth from scratch. Or to make chicken stew.
Fish or chicken is my main choices ( I live on the coast so seafood I can get free or at least cheaper) not a big steak fan but an occasional hamburger is good.
I initially preferred Filet Mignon and later lamb served during the Passover meal was delicious. Then i went to Germany and tried the rump roast. Oh my, that was tasty!
@Zonuss Gential meat is the best tasting meat for countless adults even if they won't ever admit it. They are always eating as much of it (male and female) as they can.
Given what i always eat, chicken first, pork, then beef. However, nothing beats shrimp, crawfish, and crab once you're in the mood for it... It's so aromatic.
