Tap water is safe. Our problem is sewage water overflowing into rivers and oceans ,especially when it rains, which is often. It is raw, untreated human waste and Sharkey is rightfully appalled .

He's campaigning for cleaner rivers and streams. The tap water in the UK is fine

@SW-User ok thanks.

I believe it is safe to drink straight from the tap. However I would seriously question ..how safe?

I boil my drinking water from the tap first, cool and then refrigerate it.

This method I am sure is certainly safer than bottled water which has a shelf life that lasts years ..

Water that's been in a plastic bottle then stored in a warehouse for years on end. Is not certainly not my idea of healthy.

Convenient .. maybe but not ideal.
I'd rather pre-boil freshly run from a UK tap. Then purchase from a stockroom.
Yep...they get most of it from Welsh valleys they flooded.

Yes, it's Chavs and Scousers you have to be concerned about.

It's safe.

Yes it's safe, but like someone else has said sewage is spilling over into our rivers and seas. So not safe to swim in etc.
In many ways the UK is sadly going backwards

@Purplerain78 I think overall waterways are much cleaner than they were a generation ago when industrial plants dumped their waste with impunity. Many more people have the leisure time and desire to swim outdoors than they did in say the 1990s. Our sewage system is creaking as a result of under-investment by the privatised water companies, population pressure and more frequent heavy rainfall. People are concerned about the condition of our waterways and are making their voices known. That is progress 🙂

It is fine and good quality. We pay enough in the south west for processed drinking water.
