Yes it's safe, but like someone else has said sewage is spilling over into our rivers and seas. So not safe to swim in etc.

@Purplerain78 I think overall waterways are much cleaner than they were a generation ago when industrial plants dumped their waste with impunity. Many more people have the leisure time and desire to swim outdoors than they did in say the 1990s. Our sewage system is creaking as a result of under-investment by the privatised water companies, population pressure and more frequent heavy rainfall. People are concerned about the condition of our waterways and are making their voices known. That is progress 🙂
