Not being mean, but why kidney pie? It smells like baked urine.😫

Is it one of those things that has a deceptive smell and actually tastes good?

I think this is why kidneys are paired with steak in a pie. Delicious though. If you don't want it I'll have it 😋
@Lhayezee But is that scent translated into taste? Many people say it taste great, but what happens to that particular quality?🤔

@UnderLockDown I think it vanishes when mixed with beef and gravy and pastry

@UnderLockDown @Lhayezee It also depends on which animal's kidneys you use - pig's offal has a very strong smell and taste which doesn't appeal to me; lamb's has a nuttiness though, in my opinion. As Lizzie says though, when cooked with beef and gravy it all blends in.
