@cherokeepatti Supermarkets cry poor. They are saying for every dollar spent in store, only 5 cents is profit.
Farmers are being destroyed by low prices offered by supermarkets.
One blueberry farmers says his blueberries are being sold for 10 times the price he gets from Coles.

@Gusman I was buying tins of cat food at Aldi for 34 cents a can. They have gone up to 54 cents. Then I couldn’t find them at several Aldi stores here. A few weeks ago I went to a couple of Walmarts to buy some of the Walmart brand and they were sold out. So I go shopping at Aldi and they are stocked but raised the price to 74 cents. I bought it anyway. Then a couple weeks later they dropped the price back down to 54 cents. I think some of these stores are playing games

@Gusman And a produce seller told me 10 years ago he could buy kiwi fruit for 5-6 cents each and bring truckloads to Walmart, maybe double the price to them and they would never sell them for less than 50-60 cents each. I don’t buy much produce from them. They would rather let some things rot and throw away rather than sell at a reasonable price or discount it so it would be sold before spoiling. I have seen fruit flies swarming bins of melons because of that

@cherokeepatti Every time I visit the supermarket, there is always an employee throwing produce into the large bins.
Greed is the worse. I sometimes wish these super corporation would go bust or the top executives would be imprisoned.

@Gusman there are people here who go dumpster diving and it’s unbelievable how so much gets thrown away. Some of the produce in the videos looks just as fresh or even fresher than what I have seen in the store. But it’s not just produce or refrigerated items, one couple found so much in a dumpster they couldn’t take it all and called another person to get the remaining stuff. They got at least 2 dozen tins of peaches, household items and candies etc too Their truck was full
