My minimalist dinner:

- A dish of boiled beans (w/ olive oil, salt, black pepper)
- Bread
- Half (1/2) glass of red wine - just because I have a bottle open, otherwise it would've been water

People here are telling me that I'd have better meals if I was in prison 🥴

You got my seal of approval. Shit, it's even vegan!
SW-User
@BlueVeins is bread vegan?
BlueVeins · 22-25
@SW-User most is. Wheat is a plant, after all. Some people are dicks and put milk or egg in them.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@BlueVeins Olive oil is in general the most popular addition here; in some bread types you would find lard, but it's not too common

No way, people LOVE "Italian food"

...as long as it's either bad pasta or pizza and made somewhere in NY.

@Elessar I lived in the middle of nowhere, in the forest for a year there and... honestly, it was amazing. Nothing to be scared of other than the impromptu visits from wild boars. The best part of living so far from everyone else, though, was that I had no choice, had to cook my own food and didn't have to deal with ketchup pasta and shrimps in Greek salad 😌

wild boars
Ahh, don't worry we're used to those, we have them even in cities here 😅

Hell yeah, that sounds pretty cool. I don't see myself living in (as opposed to just exploring) the wilderness, or at least not for too long, but it certainly would be an experience

Same!!🥲

It was an (amazing) experience. It gets weird especially in the winter. I'd say it gets lonely too but...it's Sweden, living in the centre of the city didn't make much difference. It's nice, though, cause you get to get familiar with having to "survive" on your own, no neighbours or people around. And of course you get to enjoy amazing views and landscapes

This is a good day for the Brits

@Elessar I'm trying to take your shame away by having leftover orzotto from my lunch

It does seem rather "light" to most people but if we enjoy something it is usually best to keep it to ourselves.
Maybe we are excited or proud of something but then always someone to say it is a bad idea or stupid or "why don't you do this instead".

Sounds good. Personally, I'd want to add some pork to those beans. but that's a personal choice.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@badminton I went with this specifically to stay away from red meat / cheese / eggs / cholesterol

Not that I have any problems with cholesterol rn, but prevention is better than cure, and I feel like I'm having a bit too much of those lately so it's time to cut it all a bit
You have to have the right contacts if you want wine in prison. LOL
Elessar · 26-30, M
@YourMomsSecretCrush True, true; but as I said it was an exception to the rule, usually there's only plain simple mineral water on my table
@Elessar if you like I can run you some tap water thats really high in iron, lead, and other minerals. LOL
What kind of beans? If it fills you up, sounds good to me. I enjoy a simple meal on occasion.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
All good, but you need some fresh veg or fruit as well 🙂
Elessar · 26-30, M
@SunshineGirl I've forgot to mention it, but I had some Isabella* grapes at the end 🍇

(* actually the cultivar we have here, which I have no idea what it translates to into English lol.. "strawberry-grape"? 🥴)
I imagine even that would be an elegant dish in Italy. 😎
Elessar · 26-30, M
@bijouxbroussard Ah, I must have missed that post. Unfortunately I can't be of help with shrimps, being allergic to crustaceans I never prepare them. At most I used to fish them, to use them as baits for cuttlefish and sea breams 😅
@ElessarOh, okay. 😶
Elessar · 26-30, M
@bijouxbroussard But I'm sure it was great! I mean, I used to eat them without any problems until relatively recently, I still remember the taste and I used to like it 😶 And also crab, mantis shrimps.. 😌
