American food

As an American, I’m constantly surrounded by Americanized versions of foreign cuisines. We’re a country of immigrants, so the mingling of natives with immigrants creates brand new fusion cuisines. Tex-Mex food isn’t exactly Mexican food…but it isn’t exactly standard American food either. The same goes with Italian-American food, Chinese-American food, etc.

So here’s what I’ve always wondered. Do other countries, particularly ones with lots of American immigrants, have their own unique versions of American food? The USA has Italian-American food, but does Italy have American-Italian food? The USA has Tex-Mex food, but does Mexico have Mex-Tex food? 🤔

I haven’t traveled internationally a lot, so I’m genuinely curious to know from someone who has.
