A bit of a rant on wasting food!

Please people, don't just throw perfectly good food away. Most especially when it's very expensive perfectly good food and still well within expiration dates!

Two and a half pounds of Ribeye steak at 11 US dollar a pound! Sell price 27.5! 😒

I don't care if you're rich or poor! Throwing away something like that is pure waste!

@BridgeOvertroubledWaters what tees me off is I couldn't get most of it! There was well over 50 pounds of frozen food!
@DeWayfarer especially what super markets do when they empty shelves from product close to expiry date.
C'mon , at least donate them to homeless or shelters or public kitchens instead of throwing it out.
Some dumpsters can easily get all their daily food from supermarket's bins !

@BridgeOvertroubledWaters that could have been done here as well! This wasn't even a grocery store though that was throwing away perfectly good food!
@DeWayfarer there are organizations that collect left over food from restaraunts , hotels and catering and take them to shelters , give them out to homeless , to people on welfare.
And in some places , for what's left over there are energy plants that turn left over food/veg/fruit/greens into cooking gas , electric energy , fertilizer liquid.
There is SO much to go around and be given or reused.

@BridgeOvertroubledWaters I couldn't agree with you more! Heck the last company I worked for was creating methane for their trucks by recycling plant based materials!
@DeWayfarer on a personal level , I use our left over fruit/veg/greens/coffee/tea/paper for garden compost.

@BridgeOvertroubledWaters my father did that back in the 80s! 😁
