Boiled its a bit slimy. I grew up eating it fried ( dusted first with corn meal) , and I have had okra and squash together (dusted with corn meal) and fried . Both are really good. The cap and the tip are hard , so discard those pieces ...slice in 1/2" slices ,lightly dry them in a paper towel, batter with corn meal (shake off the excess) and put in hot oil or a deep fryer. When it starts to brown well its done.
