Have you cooked okra before?

I have always been interested in it but its hard to get round here and I don't know what kind of meals you'd use it in...

@Nomoretomorrow How long can you cook it before it goes to mush? Is it like a zucchini, potato or carrot?

@Thevy29 can't remember off the top of my head but not long, more like a zucchini.

@Thevy29 cooking it without much liquid with other veggies just until tender is better than cooking in a stew. And don’t slice it when you put it in a dish. I’ve had a middle-eastern dish like stew but without putting liquids in it, chicken or other meat with other veggies and onion-garlic & spices, it doesn’’t get slimy like that. And pickled okra is not slimy either, my daughter got me to try it and it’s good.
