Food Shortages in our future? Texas is wrecked.

Anyone know how much of the national food supply will be affected?

In Texas, thousands and thousands of gallons of milk had to be dumped. Baby chicks are freezing to death. Eggs are freezing and have to be thrown away. Adult chickens are freezing to death.

The entire orange crop in southern Texas is destroyed.

The entire grapefruit crop in southern Texas is ruined and can only be used for juice.

Baby calves will freeze to death or their mother's die of dehydration as soon as they are born. The water for the mothers is frozen and not available. There will be a beef shortage next year in Texas.

What grocery chains nationwide are depending on these supplies?

It's a problem already. I will be distributing food at a Food Bank today, and there isn't much food to give out.

@exexec I saw that on the news...saw the truck. Is there any way you can get food from other states? The feds need to step in quickly, IMO, and get you some MRE's.

@4meAndyou We usually get food from the big warehouse in Houston, but nothing was available. Plus, the Port of Houston has basically been closed, so no food shipments have been arriving this week. A lot of those items go to other states, so even they will be hurting soon.

@exexec So it WILL be a nationwide problem. I heard that Biden has already declared a state of emergency, so where are the MRE's and water that are supposed to be there for hungry residents without water?
