The living Oreo

I remember seeing a picture of an ant of similar anatomy that had a big flat protrusion on its back used to block off the entrance to an underground ant colony. Someone captioned it with "imagine being born and you're just the door."

So in essence it is it’s own doorway?
Or as another thought, it’s a living buttplug? 😂
