Have you got nice food items for Christmas and already eaten them?

@Stereoguy I looked at them, decided I would have to listen to a nasty lecture from MAF about how expensive they are, and then decided that since he always insists he wants nothing, I will just buy him a few pieces of fruit at the grocery story. He really loves fresh fruit.

@4meAndyou You can’t go wrong with fresh fruit. It’s better to make your own fruit basket rather than buying one in the store. If you have any type of basket or other larger container such as a bucket or bowl that will work nicely, and you can personalize it to suit whoever gets it, add a bowl & maybe plastic wrap, nuts or whatever they like. Some of those fruit baskets sold in the stores are not all that fresh.

@cherokeepatti I figure I will make him REALLY happy and just wrap the fruit right inside the grocery bag...(he's yelled at me before for buying a basket to put farm fresh squash and other fun stuff inside). I could go full cheapskate and stick a bow on the grocery bag...🤣

@Stereoguy We always wrapped the presents, with nice bows, but we also saved the bags and the receipts in a drawer, usually under our folded underwear...🤣.

The brown paper bag is just a disguise, really, to make the small gift acceptable to a very weird and grumpy guy who does NOT want to receive any gifts.

@Stereoguy Some stores are fussy about returns, and they give you a hard time if the return isn't in the original bag. But good for you! I can't imagine the ex buying me something I didn't want to return, unless I picked it out myself.

@Stereoguy Well, slippers are very practical! I buy stupid or silly or funny or creative gifts for people. 🤣

@Stereoguy My motto used to be that Christmas is a time for wonderful surprises! I still go overboard, but in the past I used to really spoil my son.
