When food gets Americanized

Inspired by a previous shepherds pie/cottage pie discussion. I saw this in the store today.

Let me guess - the melted cheese on it and added 400 calories...🙃

@SirenCalledLuce no, is called cottage pie if made with beef, apparently. Shepherd's pie is with lamb. It's apparently a big distinction in the UK
A friend from the UK tells me that if it has beef, it’s actually “cottage pie”, shepherd’s pie is traditionally made with lamb.
Had you ever heard that ?

Shepherds = Lamb.
Cottage = Beef.
A nice Red is a good acompliment to either.
