DEEP DISH MOTHERFUCKING PIZZA
A very close second would be the famous Italian beef sandwich, colloquially referred to simply as "a beef."

@BlueMetalChick Ah, my hometown. I'd reverse the order, but they're both awesome. Also, although it's not unique to Chicago, the best gyros in the world are made there.

@luckranger71 You ever go to Pequod's?

@BlueMetalChick newyorker here. can confirm: chicago deep dish is better than nyc thin crust pizza. but, LA pizza is pure trash

@tenente LA pizza is a fucking dumpster fire.
I do appreciate that "thin crust" style pizza is a lot easier to grab just as a slice. Like if I don't wanna order a whole pizza, I just want a slice to eat while on the subway or something, it's more practical than a fat slice of deep dish.

@BlueMetalChick No, just looked it up. Looks like Lincoln Park West. When I come in for a Cubs game (hopefully) next summer I’ll have to try it.

@luckranger71 I'm a Humboldt Park girl. North side of the park, not between the flags. I'm by the armory.

@BlueMetalChick Some day, I will eat Chicago. Hot beef and deep dish are requirements.

@CountScrofula Most people like their beefs "wet" which means it's double dipped in the au jou. But personally I think that makes the bread soggy so I like mine dry.
