I really, really need some butter in order to cook my food. I forgot it at the grocery store last night.

Will anyone give me a ride to Walmart or something? I'm dying to cook my foods, but I insist on using the right ingredients and the yummy, real butter.

The yumminess of real butter is what makes a real chef's cooking so fabulous. They do NOT spare the calories. I have learned that my doctor thinks it's not good for our arteries...so it's olive oil with a small amount of salt for me. 😢

@4meAndyou The feral cat I feed loves scrambled eggs when I put a little butter rather than olive oil in them to cook them. Makes a huge difference in flavor and I love oil oil, not putting it down at all.

@cherokeepatti Yup. I have promised myself to try to obey my doctors recommendations, but I agree 100%...NOTHING tastes as good as real butter in a recipe.

@4meAndyou I was born on a farm and our cow was a Jersey cow, they give the most cream of any other breed. So we always had real butter, whipped cream, cottage cheese, cream gravy, homemade cream pies of all varieties. Spoiled by it.

@cherokeepatti My grandfather's farm was near where I was born, and my grandmother seemed to be more about fried chicken and German cooking taught to her by her mother.

@4meAndyou It was Nebraska after all. And we also made fried chicken & sauerkraut & sausage. Almost everything we ate was made on the farm.

@cherokeepatti Big German cooking influence out there. I was surprised when I started doing genealogies and saw so many Swedish people, too.
