I really, really need some butter in order to cook my food. I forgot it at the grocery store last night.

Will anyone give me a ride to Walmart or something? I'm dying to cook my foods, but I insist on using the right ingredients and the yummy, real butter.

The yumminess of real butter is what makes a real chef's cooking so fabulous. They do NOT spare the calories. I have learned that my doctor thinks it's not good for our arteries...so it's olive oil with a small amount of salt for me. 馃槩

@cherokeepatti My grandfather's farm was near where I was born, and my grandmother seemed to be more about fried chicken and German cooking taught to her by her mother.

@4meAndyou It was Nebraska after all. And we also made fried chicken & sauerkraut & sausage. Almost everything we ate was made on the farm.

@cherokeepatti Big German cooking influence out there. I was surprised when I started doing genealogies and saw so many Swedish people, too.

I always stock up on butter just for these reasons. I don鈥檛 like going to the store for just one ingredient when I鈥檓 cooking dinner.

Use some vegetable oil. 馃檪

@Zonuss It doesn鈥檛 work good for some dishes. I try to substitute olive oil for butter sometimes.

@cherokeepatti It works with most things because its just a cooking ordeal. And, It just depends on the person. I don't need butter to cook anything if I have some oil. And if I have butter only then I will use it if I must. Otherwise, I don't care. 馃檪
