How long should I boil pasta for to make it very soft?

For some reason, I can’t find this info online. I just got wisdom teeth out and it needs to be very soft. How many minutes until I should start testing it do you think?

7-12 minutes

Hi there Shay. You want it soft but not mushy. Cook it according to package instruction. When it gets close, fish out a noodle and throw it at the wall. If it sticks its done. Be sure to drain the water and remove from the heat or else the pasta will overcook.

@SW-User I ask because I don’t know much about cooking. That’s cool, though. I think I’ll stick to testing it with my mouth though....

@ShaythePanTransMan If you need it soft, which must only be days, wisdom teeth, let it cook for another minute or two after you find it first sticks if you are an attentive cook.

@SW-User All right.
I would only eat liquid foods for the first couple of days

@lovelywarpedlemon Then I’ll make the noodles later. Ugh that sucks.... Thank you. The procedure went perfectly and it seems to be going well. I don’t taste any blood and only had to use gauze for a few hours and the pain isn’t terrible even if I’m not on the pain medication.
@ShaythePanTransMan It gets interesting rinsing the holes with a saline syringe lmao. it's not bad after the first couple of days.

@lovelywarpedlemon that sounds painful....

Spaghetti, el dente is about 9 minutes ... if it's spaghetti add about two minutes, for that matter for any pasta add about two minutes from suggested cooking time if you need it soft. For the really longer cooking times maybe add 3 minutes

@SW-User All right, I’ll try cooking it for 9 minutes then tomorrow.

@ShaythePanTransMan 11 minutes if you need it soft

@SW-User All right, thank you.

It will say on the side of the box and time varies based on brand and shape of it.
ShaythePanTransMan · 22-25, T
@Peaceful ah, no. I need it to be softer than it ends up though....
Peaceful · F
@ShaythePanTransMan just cook it a smidge longer. Taste test it first.
ShaythePanTransMan · 22-25, T
@Peaceful All right.
depends on the pasta shape
ShaythePanTransMan · 22-25, T
@MarmeeMarch Never eat that shape? Oh you mean after teeth removal? Well, I think we have bow tie too or I could cut the pasta shorter. Yeah, that’s true.
@ShaythePanTransMan Not cutting it shorter - I never eat that style of pasta -
ShaythePanTransMan · 22-25, T
@MarmeeMarch Oh, you omitted the I so I thought you were telling me, sorry.

You should boil it until it dissolves.
