When you eat a baked potato do you eat the shell with it or just the inside part?

the whole damn thing. cut it up completely, then mash it flat with my fork, butter, salt, pepper, sour cream, yum. lots of fiber and extra nutrients in the skin.

@SW-User and the skin tastes so good, particularly if the potato is truly BAKED in an oven, not in a microwave, it needs to be baked crispy.
SW-User
@samueltyler2 agree. i like to bake them for an hour in butter in foil, then partially unwrap, squeeze to burst open, then back in for another 15 to 30 mins.

@SW-User be careful with that, i don't want to be too scientifically frightening, but the foil does insulate between the skin and the foil. if the heat doesn't get high enough some bacteria can grow between the skin and the foil. That is more often when the potato is first slightly cooked and then rewarmed.

@samueltyler2 i read about that. thank you, but don't worry. i cook to high temp, and immediately remove from foil. no storing or reheating in foil.

@samueltyler2 definitely crispy, they can keep the microwave.

@Repete Neer I can do with or without crispy and some are thin skinned anyway.

@Swoop62 usually a new potatoes have thin skins after they’ve been harvested the skin gets thicker.
