That variety was actually 'bred' in Fort Mill, SC, not far from where I once lived. Peppers grow hot in the south anyway. The last time I looked he was working on Pepper X and Pepper Y which are supposedly hotter.

I have eaten carolina reaper, I use hot sauce made from it all the time. I think ghost peppers are a touch hotter, personally, but it could just be that the heat is more persistent. I'm kind of dying to try Pepper X at some point.

I grow Trinidad Scorpion Butch T Peppers. 1,500,000 SHU. When I first put them in, it was the hottest chilli around until the Carolina Reaper. They are dangerous. I have some C Reaper seeds.
