When I made the dinner - sausage & chestnut dressing, sweet potato AND pumpkin pies, def coleslaw, succotash (I like the southwestern kind now - more colorful) mashed potatoes, gravy, warm rolls, relish tray - pickles - sweet gherkins, kosher dill spears, home canned bread & butter pickles, vegetable tray - carrots, celery. radishes...candied sweet potatoes. Green bean casserole. Couches for after dinner comas. It was crazy.

@Mamapolo2016 You should have called me - I would have (deep) fried a turkey for you in AN HOUR !!!!
And I would have given you a life pass to dinner.

What I SHOULD have done was file for divorce on Black Friday, but hindsight is better than foresight. @Motosh72

A little turkey, a little ham. Lots of dressing and green beans. And of course cranberry sauces. Yea, the plural was intentional :) And as I watch everyone dig into the pumpkin pie I get most of the pecan pie.

Oh, was planning on a wedge salad, but the Romaine lettuce ended up in the trash :( So looks like a Waldorf salad.
@Heartlander Mary had a little lamb, a little bread, a little jam, a little drink, a little ham...

my, how sick our Mary is!

@LilMonkey78 Thanks. Full report tomorrow at 5 :)
I have to have coleslaw with turkey. I go to my daughter's now but I buy KFC coleslaw and take it along.
@Heartlander I love sauteed cabbage in vegetable oil anf a smidge of Chinese (strong sesame) oil.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
@Mamapolo2016 Yes, and I was thinking of trying the sesame oil for the slaw rather than the mayo. It will be an experiment. That roasted almond toast that comes with sesame oil may overpower the slaw, so maybe just a touch, along with the mayo.
@Heartlander Love that flavor. Green beans too.

@Mamapolo2016 Hehehe...... Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃
@LyricalOne Happy Thanksgiving to you too.

@LyricalOne Re Pork Rinds. It's how we know when we've crossed the line separating the heartlands and the south. The line floats a little, but in general it passes through Missouri. Kansas and Oklahoma.

Stop for gas, go inside the convenience store part and if pork rinds snacks outnumber potato chips, we are in the south. If potato chips top pork rinds, we are still in the heartlands.

Fresh homemade cranberry sauce. <3
@DearAmbellina2113 I don't hate it but it's not homemade.
@DearAmbellina2113 @Mamapolo2016 Yusss! Squad 👊 I made mine today so it'll be chilled by tomorrow and one less thing to do.
@GreenGoddess Do ahead is essential on Thanksgiving.
